Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

No coding skills are required. You will be using tools such as Miro which require no coding ability.

User experience (UX) is the experience a person has when using a product or service. Sounds simple but is so much to it. User Experience Design combines numerous disciplines to focus on meeting the user’s needs. It takes into account psychology, market research, and even anatomy. But at the centre of it all, our focus is on – how an individual felt interacting with an app, website, shop etc.

UX Designers focus on making products and services easier, better and more enjoyable to use by looking at what customers need. This is achieved understanding the user, their behaviour and most importantly, any patterns or habits that they have. UX Designers can be involved in the initial design and built of a product long before any customers have even used it. They can also be constantly tinkering and improving a long running service based upon user feedback.

Among many disciplines, Empathy with the user is probably the most important skill to a UX Designer. UX Designers come from various backgrounds – from psychology, anthropology, and the humanities; to problem solving, data analysis and various digital skills. They all play a valuable part to the role of a UX Designer.

Definitely! Being a UX designer also means you are always learning, putting in the hard work to understand people and how they use products or services. A diverse background and range of different experiences can only ever be a good thing.

You will need your own laptop (PC or MAC). The tools used in our UX Design Courses will be provided and are all available online.
